Glorious Sun by Art Angel

Art Angel has been so enthused by our challenge she created this incredible sun to share with you all and inspire more of your creativity.  Her description of how she went about it is below, take no notice of her opening remark it might have seemed simple to her I'm sure you will agree it takes an artist to come up with this.

For this piece a lot of skill, effort, talent was required...... NOT!!! I am a strong believer in no waste, reusing and recycling, this was started on a sheet of A3 card, it’s where I catch over spray from smaller projects and test out blocked spray bottles when trying to get them to flow again! It’s where I clean my brushes! I wanted to use it in the sunshine challenge so added a few final coats of yellow and orange dye based spray through a stencil to help the warm sunshine glow along, then used the same stencil with Pearl medium. Left it to dry and cut out my sun shape using a biscuit tin lid to get the circle, the rays were done freehand. My sunshine is larger than the width of A3 as I extended two edges by gluing the waste from cutting the rays by sticking the off cuts to the back of the card to complete my circle, using these bis truly meant no waste. Finally i inked the edges of the rays with distress oxides, and used gold gilding wax on the set Pearl medium to highlight those little balls and around every edge, just to finish off!

There is still lots of time to join our first challenge and the theme of Sunshine here.  We are open to all kinds of craft, if you knit, paint, sculpt, whittle, or anything else and can use it to reflect the theme we would love to see it.
