River of Creativity - Christi's Cat's Dad got another card

Christi says.

"I had so much fun making my first card with this stamp set and, as usual, I had a bunch of kitties left over, so decided to make another Cat Dad card for the River of Creativity current challenge, Parent and Child.  As you can see by my cards we are looking for your interpretation of the theme; it can be anything you choose that speaks to YOU!"

Isn't it adorable?

Parent and Child can be represented in so many different ways and we welcome all crafts.  You might be new to crafting or might be trying a new technique or medium, we would love to see that as well.  Chatting with some friends yesterday one of whom is giving a card class today we discovered she is a bit intimidated by the group as they are all "professional women" including a former art teacher.  We took time to remind her that she is an artist and they attend her class because they like how and what she does.  My friend is an artist but like so many of us cannot judge her own work.  On top of which we all have different styles and tastes.  This is a place you can be brave and we would love you to join us.

River of Creativity - Brenda's second inspiration piece

This should have been shared with you all on the 16th, but Facebook decided to hide all our pictures.  We have a public group, link in the side bar, and a team group where we all put our samples for each challenge.  Never mind out albums are back and we hope you agree this was worth the wait.

Brenda used a stamp set call Feline Family we can certainly see the family likeness here.

We have only seen 2 entries so far this month and would love to see more.  There is a link to the challenge in the side bar or click here.  You do not have to be a paper crafter we aim to encourage and support all crafts.

River of Creativity and another of Wendy's delight cards

Hi!  It's time to share another lovely Parent and Child themed card by our very own talented Wendy, aka Spanish Crafter.

Although Wendy used the same Humphrey as used for her first card this card is very different and once again perfect to celebrate the arrival of a new family member.

We welcome any/all styles of craft from 3D mixed Media, to Baking, to Pyrography! so if you have a way of expressing out Parent and Child theme we are looking forward to seeing it.  Link to challenge in side bar or click here

River of Creativity Challenge 1 shoutouts

Gosh the standard of entries for out first challenge was fantastic, so much so that it took as a very long time to just choose one shoutout each.   There are no team rules to the shoutout so if more than one person chooses the same piece then thats ok and the chosen person is shown just once.   We were going to tell you who chose which but on reflection that seemed unfair to everyone so we are just sharing the teams favourites.

If you are looking for our current challenge there is a link in the side bar, or click here

Without further ado here are the teams choices, in no particular order.

Carole J No. 5

No. 6 Linby

Bonnie No. 7

No. 15 Karen

Donna No. 16

Congratulations to each and everyone of you.   We hope you will be proud to display your Shoutout Badge.
We really do appreciate all styles and techniques of Art and Craft and if you are sometimes a bit off the wall all the better!  Our current challenge is Parent and Child follow the link on the sidebar.

River of Creativity Challenge 2 - Parent and Child

Hello and Welcome We were amazed at the entries received for our first challenge some very talented artists joined in which was fantastic.  We are not just a card or paper crafting challenge but hope to share all kinds of craft and creativity, don't be shy we would love to see your style.

We will be back on the 11th with our Shoutouts from May.  It is proving hard for each team member to narrow it down to just 1 some of us are stuck at 3 or more right now!

Our prompt this month is Parent and Child.  Your project can be anything that reflects the theme so cards, journal pages, mixed media, crochet, woodwork, baking if you can craft it you can share it here.  We just need to see how your work relates to Parent and Child without explanation.

Here are some ideas to inspire you from our amazing Design Team.  (there are links to each team members social media set up on their name.)  We aim that at least 3 of us will visit every entry and comment, it might well be more!  Just like you the team appreciate visitor support and would love to hear from you.

We did say any/all crafts are welcome

So here is a chainmaille bracelet that I (Zoƫ) made, it looks like a row of suns around your wrist.

It is a very simple weave, each rosette is built on a single jump ring with an inner diameter of approximately 1cm.  It is usual to use the inner diameter of jump rings in chainmaille.  23 contrasting jump rings (approx 4mm) threaded on.  22 more jump rings of the same size but in the original colour then go round the outside each ring fed through 2 of the previous ones.  You can make some real statement jewellery with chainmaille and it is very satisfying to do.

Have you joined in with our challenge yet?  The theme is SUNSHINE and yes we really do hope to see all sorts of crafts.  You can find all the details here.

Brenda couldn't help herself

Brenda actually made about 4 samples for the challenge and has chosen to share another with us all.   I'll leave you with Brenda to explain what she did.

Another inky creation from me, a little scene from the bottom of my garden where the Fairies love nothing better than to come out and play in the sunshine, but they are very shy so you have to be really quiet to see them. The background is as usual oxides, Spiced Marmalade and Carved Pumpkin, stencilled sunrays and the scene built up with several Lavinia stamps stamped with Versafine black and some white highlights.

Isn't it gorgeous, you can feel the warmth of that sun from through the computer screen.

We have been thrilled with the entries so far but there is still plenty of time to join in.  We would like to see all sorts of crafts. No blacksmiths yet but a wrought iron sunshine scene would be a welcome as any other.   Our challenge runs to the end of the month and you can join in here
